2024 Battle of Atlantic Dinner

The Naval Association of Canada (NAC) and the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) will once again host the Battle of the Atlantic (BOA) Gala Dinner this year.  As in the past, we will honour the men and women who served in the RCN, the RCN Volunteer Reserve, the Naval Air Arm and the Canadian Merchant Navy during the longest campaign of the Second World War - the  Battle of the Atlantic, as well as the Korean War. This year we also acknowledge the 100th Anniversary of the RCAF.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 1 May 2024, at the Canadian War Museum. An elegant affair in a spectacular venue, the Gala Dinner has become one of the premiere social events in Ottawa. It provides an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle in a social setting with friends and colleagues, other veterans and serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, government officials, and industry executives.

Association navale du Canada (ANC) et la Marine royale du Canada (MRC) organisent cette année encore le dîner de gala de la bataille de l'Atlantique (BOA).  Comme par le passé, nous rendrons hommage aux hommes et aux femmes qui ont servi dans la MRC, la réserve de volontaires de la MRC, l'aéronavale et la marine marchande canadienne au cours de la plus longue campagne de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la bataille de l'Atlantique, ainsi que de la guerre de Corée. Cette année, nous célébrons également le 100e anniversaire de l'ARC.

L'événement aura lieu le mercredi 1er mai 2024 au Musée canadien de la guerre. Le dîner de gala, qui se déroule dans un lieu spectaculaire, est devenu l'un des principaux événements sociaux à Ottawa. Il offre une excellente occasion de rencontrer et de se mêler dans un cadre social avec des amis et des collègues, d'autres anciens combattants et membres actifs des Forces armées canadiennes, des représentants du gouvernement et des cadres de l'industrie.

TIMING

  • 17:30  Arrival registration commences (main entrances)
  • 18:00  Reception - Grand Foyer (main level)
  • 19:00  Dinner - LeBreton Gallery (lower level) 
MENU

Choice of:

Locally sourced chicken served with potato purée, roasted seasonal vegetables & cream-maple-dijon sauce (gluten free and nut free)

or

AAA braised beef served with potato purée, roasted seasonal vegetables & red wine jus (gluten free and nut free)

or

Vegan ratatouille served with fresh herbs couscous (gluten free and nut free)


Red and White wine will be served with the meal

Coffee and Refreshments available until 23:00

DRESS
  • Military - Mess Dress (#2) or Formal
  • Mess dress has been authorized for wear by retired service members who attend the Gala Dinner

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Underground parking is available.  Street parking on Vimy Place is free after 6pm
  • Photo booth at the reception
  • Roving Photographer throughout the evening

TENUE

  • Militaire - Tenue de mess (#2) ou tenue formelle
  • Le port de la tenue de mess a été autorisé pour les militaires retraités qui assistent au dîner de gala

DIVERS  

  • Un parking souterrain est disponible. Le stationnement dans la rue sur la place Vimy est gratuit après 18h00
  • Photomaton à la réception
  •  Photographe itinérant tout au long de la soirée
