Our guest speaker to open the new year is Mr. Denis Stevens, Vice-President of Government Relations at Seaspan Shipyards. Denis will present an overview of Seaspan’s organizations in Canada and their unique roles in providing continuous support to the RCN and CCG vessels, and the personnel and the families on the West Coast. He will also provide insight into the status of current shipbuilding activities within Seaspan. .
Denis Stevens joined Seaspan Shipyards as Vice President, Government Relations in August 2022.
Denis is based out of Seaspan’s Ottawa office, and is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with the Government of Canada, the Province of BC, regulatory agencies, and key decision makers on behalf of Seaspan. This work supports our efforts to be the recognized leader and trusted partner in shipbuilding, design, repair and conversion for Canada.
Prior to joining Seaspan, Denis spent much of his career in various roles within the federal government, advising on major defence projects and leading Canada’s advocacy strategies to promote trade interests in the US, including NAFTA negotiations.
