Following my last President's update to the branch, I received requests from some members asking about the status of Vice-Admiral Mark Norman's court case.   This morning, VAdm Norman sent this message:

    Dear Friends,

This email is to confirm that the appearance scheduled for 0900 next Tuesday (04 Sept 2018) is going ahead as planned. I will be present and I will be accompanied by my lead counsel. This should be a significant milestone in the ongoing judicial process. We expect media interest/attendance.

I understand some of you may wish to attend.  I thank you for your ongoing support.  Feel free to share this email with anyone who you think may wish to know.

There is no need to respond to this email.

    Yours Aye,

    Mark

The National Endowment Fund Committee has requested that applications for the 2018 grants be submitted to the Committee by May 15th.  NAC-O Members wishing to make an application should do so in consultation with our past president, Howie Smith.

As always, the better your request is substantiated, the more information the Committee has to work with. Usually there are more requests for funds than are available. While the funds associated with each individual grant may seem small, these are critical in supporting a wide-range of initiatives, all of which tell the story of the Navy, Canada's maritime heritage and work to build a means to reach out in the future to remind Canadians of their maritime heritage and the importance of maritime activities in their daily lives today and in the future.
